Spring Creek

February 3, 2008

The Spring Creek is a band that was formed when the members met studying bluegrass at the South Plains Community College in Texas. Learning under Country Gazette alumni Alan Munde and Joe Carr this band plays their own style based out of the traditions of bluegrass. Relocating to Colorado where any bluegrass musician will feel the effects of Hot Rize, who they cite as an influence, they have quickly risen to the top of the Colorado music scene. The band won the Telluride Bluegrass Festival band contest back in June, and won their second Planet Bluegrass contest 35th annual Rockygrass Festival held in Lyons, CO. Not only is this Spring Creeks’s first Wintergrass performance but this will be the debut of their new recording project that was produced by Sally Van Meter ” Lonesome Way to Go” Not a bad place to debut an album!
