Strum-a-thon this Monday, June 8, 4-6 pm at Paddy Coyne’s Irish Pub in Tacoma. The organizers of the Wintergrass will be deciding on Tuesday whether to move their festival to Bellevue.This event is being held for you to help show your support for Wintergrass in Tacoma. The Wintergrass 2009 Survey is still available on the Wintergrass website. Wintergrass would love to hear from you to help them improve the festival. There will be randomly awarding one pair of tickets to Wintergrass 2010 to one lucky person who fills out the survey.
Wintergrass 2010 Early Tickets are also available on the site until April 16th, 2009.

Online ticket sales for 2009 have ceased. However plenty of tickets are available. Phone in your orders until 6pm Wednesday Feb. 18th at 253-428-8056. After that all tickets will be available at the door beginning at noon on Thursday Feb. 19th.

Sue Thompson has a new CD that is being released this month. She is donating one CD for every participant in the Bluegrass in the Schools Teachers Workshop(See the link for more info on this special workshop,it does have a nominal fee)! This is an educational CD on how to learn to sing bluegrass harmony by ear. Keith Little is on the CD, as is Don Share. Don and Sue will be doing a workshop on Saturday at Wintergrass on Bluegrass Harmony. (Unfortunately it’s the same time as the BG in the Schools workshop for artists/bands). FYI….Don performs with a Seattle-based band called The DownTown Mountain Boys, and is also a professor (Political Science) at the Universithy of Puget Sound in Tacoma .
On Friday and Saturday night at Wintergrass 2009 will have two dances at The Varsity Grill, just up the street from the Hotel Murano, which is also an all-ages venue.
